Tribute to Howard Leader, 1947 - 2026

In fond memory of dear Howard, a knowledgeable man, great company, he cared deeply for the world we live in, nature, and the environment, you will be sorely missed by many, rest in peace dear friend, Lilian and Brian Henshaw xxxxxxoooooo

Howard, we are so fortunate to have become part of your family through our son’s love for your son. You were a remarkable man. We admired your commitment to people and to the planet, and we so enjoyed your acute intellect and your dry sense of humour. In speaking to friends about our sadness at your passing, we found ourselves hampered by the fact that English has a gap in this part of the lexicon. Apparently many other languages have single words for ‘father of my son-in-law’ that express more appropriately the bonds of love and affection between the two sets of parents of a couple. So, as might have been said in your family in the past, goodbye, our mechuten. Rest in power, and may your memory be a blessing.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
